I found some winter colour in my garden today and began playing with a long tele macro and various apertures. Occasionally I need a refresher on the basics so that I don’t learn the hard way on something important.
The images are not processed to show what can be done before turning to Adobe and friends. For the record, I’m not against post processing, in fact, I go way back to Photoshop 3 (Those were the days… no history tool and only one undo). I also don’t think postprocessing is lazy, just that software should never be used to cover up poor technique. It should only serve to complete the vision a photographer has when the shutter button is pressed.
